Though my only minor... uhm... drawback involves the Paragon. When he/she throws his spear, it just respawns in it's hand. Could've been done better imho.

Did you ever notice the ranger does almost exactly what the paragon does and i have come to the conclusion that rangers and paragons get an endless supply of ammo by their armor which is blessed by gods

The Ritualist looks very similar to the Shaman in City of Heroes (look at the definition of shamanism.)
The Forgotten Sage is in City of Villains as Snakes.
The Ice Golems look just like the City of Heroes Crystal Titans
I think mini-pets were started in Auto Assault before Factions was released.
This is just a sample, but I am sure there are more similarities that I have observed.

And I bet you think EA, Blizzard, Activision, etc. etc. don't do the same.

I hope they use that song in the game somewere.
GW has been lacking intense battle music, I think the song in this video would add to the feeling durring an epic battle.
I'm really looking forward to this chapter.
One of the things that made Guild Wars great was doing the research. There wasn't too much information, and even the beta weekend attenders were in the dark. As time went on, the comunity learned more and more about the game, however, it was still full of surprises.
With factions, within a week, all had been explored (the game's new aspects and the map) and it started feeling more like a deathmatch than an adventure game.
I hope Nightfall brings the adventure back, and I can't think of a better chapter to do so.

Alot of ideas have already been done, its just that some get a new spin(game). The movie Underworld was a Romeo and Juliet story, just with a fewchanges.

I do not think those companies will condone copying, because they are independent of each other and have no affiliation. I am sure the corporate lawyers would sue for copyright infringement.
NCSoft is the parent company of ArenaNet, thus my point is that character similarities cross game platforms and both development divisions are continuing this practice with Nightfall.

I am not saying those companies copy content from competitors.
My point is that they rehash character models, backrounds, items etc. across their own games also.
It is a common practice in the gaming industry.

I think that is because they want people to buy the DirectSong packs, which is a ripoff(DRM monsters).

Those are passing similarities. Just because one game has snakemen doesn't mean some other game copied them when they have them too. XCOM had snakemen. Particularly the Crystal Titans don't look similar at all except for being humanoid and made of ice/crystal.
I'm really loving the music in Nightfall. Seems it gets more upbeat in battle, unlike Prophecies and Factions.

I've seen an interview by soule that stated this was on purpose. He said the action in GW is intense already, which is better complemented by a more minimalist approach in music. If the game had turn-based battles, for example, like japanese RPGs, the music would have to be a lot more in-the-face to keep the feeling of tension, since combat itself is more deliberate. So, it's more likely that stronger, more melodic songs will appear as themes for the chapters, whereas the combat and exploration music will be more subtle, as in the other GWs. Besides, having a more obvious melodic line playing during battles can become tiresome after hundreds of hours of listening to the same dozen or so songs, and might make the player turn music off altogether, which would probably not be the interest of most composers.
As for copying creatures, I have serious doubts they would use the same model in different games (especially since totally different softhouses are developing each separately). Besides, none of that stuff came out of the heads of NCsoft, far from it; if anything, they came out of D&D monster manuals, and even those are based on earlier works of popular culture of traditional myths and folklore, which can be millenar in themselves.

There are no new ideas, just new presentations of old ideas.
Hell, I'm just glad there are no Orcs or Elves. (knock on wood).

The music is most likely the main theme. The main theme is always the most exciting in my opinion.
If you think GW has good graphic, sorry to break your bubble here:
GW is just one of the millions of Korean MMOs. In Korea, GW is a very common MMO because they literally have millions of MMOs to pick from. GW is just successful over here because outside of Korea, Korean MMOs are not very common, and it is free.
Factions trailer looked amazing but the game end up turning up a major disappointment.
I really hope they don't further duplicate skills like having another Drunken Blow or Vampiric Bite (Just think of 3 Vampiric Bite skills on Touchers ><)
The music is pretty nice, but it's most likely the main theme. Factions main theme was pretty nice too.

GW isn't a MMO. Korean MMOs are a dime a dozen, most of them not even requiring a purchase, and being nowhere near the quality of GW. Even people who absolutely hate GW will agree with me on this.
And GW has very good graphics, especially considering requirements.
There'll no doubt be more duplicate skills, but just like last time they will not include these in the total listed new skill count. So if they say 150 new skills, they mean 150 and then 5 duplicates for each of the Core professions.

Aion wings are completely different besides the fact that they're both winged.

Im thinking the emperor's appearance maybe shows the way they are linking the games so you can get your character from Factions to Nightfall. Just a quick thought there.

I love the way people complain about stuff from a short trailer that barely shows anything. People are funny.

although i haven't played auto assault, i heard the skill systems were somewhat similar. the other day i read that auto assault has some form of collectible card game, and as we all know guild wars owes a lot to collectible card games.
